“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipping for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16
In 2025, the elders of Grace Church are once again suggesting a coordinated plan for reading the Bible together as a church family. Why do we take a church-wide approach to being in the Bible regularly?
This year’s plan involves us in slowing down to more carefully and fully consider what we are reading. This promotes passage retention, helping you remember what the Bible says in different books and chapters. Please consider committing to join us in our planned approach–and to share with others how the Lord is growing your heart in the truth.
The Plan: Each month’s reading includes several chapters in a book of the New Testament. The intent is for you to read through all of those chapters in one sitting each day that month, giving you better retention of the passage. Each month there is also a brief passage for memorization, taken from the monthly reading. Bookmarks for each quarter’s plan are available at the Welcome Table each Sunday.
January: Read daily: Romans 1-6 | Memorize Romans 1:16-17
February: Read daily Romans 7-11 | Memorize Romans 8:1-2
March: Read daily Romans 12-16 | Memorize Romans 12:1-2
[This plan is an adaptation of how John MacArthur suggests reading through books of the Bible to better know where Scripture speaks to certain topics and issues.]
