Grace Church Soul Care

Grace Church Soul Care (GCSC) is the biblical counseling ministry of Grace Church Williamsburg. Counseling is the personal ministry of God’s Word to magnify Jesus and make disciples. It is corrective, proactive, and interactive.

The Bible teaches that this is God’s world, so that all of life is lived Coram Deo (in the presence of God). As such, we understand the issues of life to be primarily spiritual in nature. Therefore, biblical soul care (counseling) is about helping people submit their souls to God’s good care.

Our counselors are not psychologists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, or secular social workers. They are believers who have taken the time and made the effort to receive biblical training in using the scriptures to speak the truth of the Lord in love. This involves the personalized ministry of the Word of God.

Those who come to us for biblical soul care are not clients but counselees – fellow strugglers, sojourners, and sufferers – everyday people in need of someone to walk alongside them through a particular issue, circumstance, and/or trial of life, to help them live in the wisdom and love of Christ, and to reflect that wisdom and love.

Biblical soul care (counseling) involves us in learning to trust and obey God as He moves us through the trials and challenges of life, to help us love and treasure Jesus, and to be loved and treasured by Him.
