DISTINCTIVES

Here are some important ways Grace Church Williamsburg seeks to pursue the greater glory of God as a church family:

• Expository preaching. The central focus of our Sunday worship service is an expository message which, put simply, includes verse-by-verse explanations of passages of Scripture so that we “may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding” (Colossians 1:9).

• Christ-centered teaching. Our church family regularly studies in books of the Bible, as well as in selected Christian books and resources which help us learn to “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects” (Colossians 1:10).

• High view of God. As a spiritual community in Christ, we focus on exalting God’s character as we strive to “be imitators of God, as beloved children” (Ephesians 5:1).

• High view of Scripture. We are a spiritual people set apart to God by the word of God (John 17:17), and who build each other up by letting “the word of Christ richly dwell in [us]” (Colossians 3:16).

• Gracious people. As Christ’s body on earth, we want to “walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which we have been called, with all humility and gentleness with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:1-3).
